Background

Siquijor originally called La Isla del Fuego, is today known for its scenic beauty and its archaic churches. Students of history and photography buffs will love the old churches and the century old trees. Beach bums will enjoy the long stretches of white sand. Coral Cay Resort rents out bicycles by the hour. There are also motorcycles to rent by the hour or by the day.

To get around as a group, one may rent a jeep, or an Easy Ride. Transportation will be arranged by the tour guide.

Aside from the churches, other sites to visit are a century old house, a cave to explore.
Among the quaint old churches are the the St. Francis of Assisi church which was the only church until the 19th century; the Larena Church and belltower, built in 1836. The San Juan church also built in 1863, the Lazi church.

For those who wish to stay overnight, there is the Coco Grove Beach Resort that provides good accommodations.
